Ahmedabad's Dr. Siddharth Mavani Received a Prestigious Award from CM for his Stellar Contribution to Nephrology

Dr. Siddharth Mavani, a distinguished kidney transplant specialist, has not only brought healing to their patients but has currently been honored with a prestigious award by our well-known and esteemed Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Bhupendra Patel, representing a pinnacle of appreciation for his consistent dedication and unwavering commitment to the field of nephrology.
Significantly Nephrology is a branch of medical science that deals with disease of the kidney. Nephrologists specialize in treating both acute and chronic kidney diseases and the high blood pressure that goes along with them. The crucial role of the Kidney is to filter waste products from the blood and convert them to pee. If somehow is unable to function this way, waste products can accumulate which could be life-threatening. The most common reason for kidney transplant depends on the dysfunctionality of the Kidney function, also referred to as end-stage chronic renal disease or Kidney failure.
Dr. Mavani, who is originally from Ahmedabad, has worked hard to provide a healthy life for many patients by performing successful surgeries at Shalby Hospital and now CIMS Hospital. Dr. Patel's journey toward becoming a pioneer in kidney transplantation began with a fervent passion for medicine and an unwavering commitment to alleviate human suffering. Armed with a profound sense of purpose, he embarked on a remarkable odyssey marked by compassion, innovation, and relentless perseverance.
He enrolled in the M.D. program in 2002 after acquiring his M.B.B.S. from NHL Municipal Medical College in 1996. Subsequently completing his 4 years studies and internship, he enrolled in the Anti-medicine program. Dr. Mavani had to become an orthopedics specialist from the beginning. However, after being unable to secure a seat, he enrolled as a physician and finished his anti-medicine coursework in 2005. furthermore served for a year as a Super Specialist Nephrologist in 2006. After being admitted to a top-tier, multispecialist renal hospital in Nadiad, Dr. Mavani worked as a nephrologist there until 2009.
Dr. Mavani served his role as a nephrologist at Shalby Hospital in 2010. He remained employed there for four years in a row, till 2014. Apart from that, Dr. Mavani commenced performing kidney transplant surgery at Shalby Hospital. In less than two years after being granted permission to conduct kidney transplants at Shalby Hospital, Dr. Mavani successfully completed 48 procedures.
Following his departure from Shelby Hospital in 2014, Dr. Siddharth Mavani set up his own practice. He rented the third cabin and owned two on the first floor of a building, where he installed two dialysis machines. In contrast, currently, Dr. Siddharth Mavani's Kidney Hospital performs more than 500 dialysis procedures each month.
After being given the position of Director in the Department of Nephrology, Dr. Mavani joined CIMS Hospital in August 2022. Probably 75 to 80 successful transplant procedures have been carried out by him since joining CIMS Hospital. That means, in the 10 years before Dr. Siddharth joined CIMS Hospital, only 23 transplants were done in the hospital, but within one year of his joining, 57 transplant surgeries were done. All surgical patients, however, made a full recovery and had a positive experience. Based on this, it can be said that Dr. Siddharth Mavani had the greatest impact on the founding of the kidney transplant movement at Shalby Hospital.
